ONCE UPON A TIME AND CONTINUES TO EXIST TODAY

Speaking of Sammy means telling the story of the family of Antonio Amato, a great farmer and refined connoisseur of the land and its produce who grew San Marzano tomatoes in the 1960s.

Antonio, an expert in the biological cycle of the tomato and the secrets of its cultivation, decided to set up a business selling fruit and vegetables, to make the flavours and fragrances that sprouted in the sunny countryside of that part of Campania (Agro Nocerino Sarnese) between San Marzano sul Sarno and Pompei international, giving rise to Antonio Amato & Figli.

SAMMY, A STORY TO TELL

In the 1980s, Antonio Amato & Figli was joined by Commerciale Export Srl, which accepted the task of personally exporting its products. As the years went by, the increase in demand for superior products meant that the latter absorbed the former, winning the major markets of France, Germany and Austria for its professionalism and the quality of its production.

Today, Antonio’s sons continue to keep their father’s secrets and to cultivate the S. Marzano D.O.P. tomato of the Agro Nocerino Sarnese, creating a supreme line named “Sammy” in 2005, intended for those who make quality an indispensable measure to safeguard traditional tastes and quality.
